Example....

I was told that some people aren't too sure what to put in the bios, I wasn't really either, so I just did a really random one. Here is an example, done by our cat Tyler, who won't be attending. But in case you ever run into him, you know a thing or two about him.

Hi, my name is Tyler and I'm about 2 or 3 years old. I really don't know. I live in Santa Cruz right now, but I'm actually from the back of some bio-med facility in Woodland. I'm currently unemployed, but I am really enjoying the time off. I used to have a high stress job, trading stocks. I used to really want to be a Pho chef, and I might go back to school for that eventually. The only real thing stopping me is the fact that I don't have opposable thumbs. In my free time, when I'm not reading the latest edition of the Onion, I enjoy crossing busy streets and tallying up how many cars I can get to slam on their brakes. I like going to the beach, eating flying insects, and finding new and mysterious places to crap, or nap in the world. I'm excellent when it comes to Poker, and I'll take any of you on, any day, and win. Bring it Bitches!

Bios!

Yay I'm the only one posting. Thank you to the 3 who got their bios in already, I know I'm the most annoying I could be, but I put them into the book format and they look so good that I'm excited to get the rest! Joel suggested I make a "Mad Libs" style format for those of you who are reluctant to make a bio. I just might do that. I want to get these bios out to everyone ASAP 'cause they are really coool.............

Cool Info and satellite view of the campsite

Campsite at Comanche

I thought you might all like to take a look at this. You can see that there are more trees at this site than most other places on the lake. You can also see the lake :-). Our three campsites are along the little street on the very left, next to the water.

By the way I got a boat that will be ready to use by August, hopefully with a sail but definitely with a motor by that time. It holds four people so that will be our fishing boat and cruiser. The boat will be beached at shore by our site so we can take it out whenever we want.

Also, we can be at our campsite at 2PM, so lets all get there early and make it as fun as we can. We are supposed to leave by 1PM on Monday (but when I went this weekend we never got told to leave and we took off at 5PM.)

Make sure to read what Jesse wrote below, I think I'll make it a sticky.

Los Bios

So I talked it over with the Ross and he thinks it's a coo idea. As cheeeeezy as it's going to sound, it will be really really cool after. So I need everyone to send me a bio. It can be funny, serious, ridiculous... anything! Just a little about yourself, and a picture, and then your address also. I'm not gonna put the address in the bio though, but I need it to mail you all something. After I get all the bios, I'm gonna put them together in a book, make copies and send each of you a book of everyone that's going. It will be funny and that way if you don't know someone that is going, now you know a little bit about them! Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo get me the bios by I'd say July 31 so that I can assemble them and ship em out. Ross says that if you don't do it that we get to do one for you... mua ha ha....

please send them to me please at "discojess at gmail" please

FUN WEEKEND!

Well, we just went to the Lake that we will be at for the HBDC2 that occurs on August 24, tofubi?, anyway... it was a GREAT trip, we had a really fun time on the water and on the seapoos. The weather is very warm, VERY, shade was essential. Luckily we had a canopy, and the campsite we will have in August has a lot of trees. Easy access to the lake, and very very warm water! We saw the party boats and they look really fun too. So how many people are officially going now??

ONLY 66 DAYS!!!!!!!

I am so excited!

Tuesday, June 12, 2007

As the great Strongbad would say "D-E-L-E-T-E-D". Well anyways, I usually just take 99 NB to Liberty road, instead of taking 99 to 88 to Liberty. It's the first exit past Collier.

Just one question...

Is it ok if we drink?

Going Fishin

Hey buddies!

We will be renting a party boat for a half day, this is included in your cost. Another thing: who wants to rent a fishing boat? I will be bringing fishing gear and there should be enough for several people to fish. Probably five people in a fishing boat. This though, will have to be out-of-pocket because obviously not everyone will want to fish (boring for some right?). Let me know. If enough people want to go out on a fishing boat anyway, we may consider it a trip cost.

Please check out the Lake Camanche website (link to the right). There are some nearby activities like Jackson Rancheria Casino, wine tasting, dining. If you see something you would like to do please give your input soon.

Have a great weekend!

Big tree at Henry Cowell

Hey everyone,

This is cool, it's a huge tree at Henry Cowell, the park we are staying at. In other news, we have been invited to party at Jesse's mom's house who lives about two minutes from the park. BBQ, deck, koi pond hot tub, and river all in the back yard.

Friday, May 18, 2007

Woohoo! Campsites are reserved!

Yeah!

We have a perfect triangle of three campsites that we will be staying at. Check out the map here.

New Plan

Just in case anyone is disappointed that we are not doing the beach house anymore, don't be. The beach house had a $1,000 deposit, so the price per buddy was going to go up to $200 instead of the original $100. Eventually, everyone would have been reimbursed $100 of the $200 if everything went well, but you never know. We won't have to worry about getting the deposit taken away, all the rules that come along with the rental agreement, and people spilling shit.
The camping will be great. The $100/ person will be going toward everyone having a great time (please see Ross's blog below mine for details). No one will have to worry about paying for beer or people not bringing food like the last HBDC. It seems like it is always the same people that pay to get more beer and we don't want that to happen. This way makes it fair for everyone and $100 for 3 nights plus entertainment is cheap.
If you have any questions, please contact me at kathrynwebster@gmail.com or Ross at rossta@gmail.com.

New Plan, Take Heed! This IS THE PLAN!

Hey everybody,

So, you might have seen the posts below about the new digs, the campsite and the other stuff Mo said. So let me break it down to you. Soon, the evite will be updated to represent what I am saying here. Perhaps it will be changed tonight, but I don't know.

Check it out. The original plan was to rent out an expensive beach house in the middle of a busy neighborhood. The place had a limit as to how many people could be there after 10. What we needed was a place that would let us have people over after 10, and party! Come on guys, we're camping!!!

Ok, so what we are going to do now is basically give you all a great deal. We are going to have a great time!

What we are going to do is camp at Henry Cowell State Park. It is a ten minute drive from the beach boardwalk, and a ten minute drive from Loch Lomond. We are going to downtown and the boardwalk on Saturday, you will have tickets to ride, and a taxi ride included in your $100 fee. The loch is where we are going to rent a boat, go fishing, and BBQ lunch on Sunday, that will be paid for also.

So we are camping! We will have beer for everyone for all four days, and we will have dinner and snacks. It is likely that we will have breakfast for everyone. Please bring something for each days lunch! We will make a huge attempt to have food for every meal except for the Saturday outing downtown in Santa Cruz. Remember, if you want liquor, you need to bring it!

Here is what you NEED TO BRING!

1. Cash - $40 Plus
2. Lunch for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; lunch meat, bread, etc.
3. Personal Snacks
4. A Cooler (if you have one)
5. Your fishing gear
6. A tent
7. Sleeping Bag
8. Flashlight
9. Soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, shaving kit
10. Clothes for downtown, the lake, and relaxing
11. Beach stuff; towell, sunscreen, etc.
12. You might want to bring toilet paper!

Please leave other suggestions in the comments area!

Goin' back to Cali...

Hey buddies! Camping...now that's what I'm talking about!
Can't wait for this shit to go down !!!
Has anybody found that missing Buddy?
And Umar and Toal...where u at?

Updated info

We have the house as everyone knows, but we have made this an exclusive event for buddies and buddies boy/girlfriends only. We are hoping to have extra funds to put toward food and beer, but we will not have as much as we intended prior to making this an exclusive event. All invoices from now on will be updated with these changes. I apologize for the change in plans. Ross and I are working on the food and beer plan and will let everyone know ASAP.

Other people are more than welcome to hang out with us during the day to barbeque, swim, lay out, fish, go to the boardwalk. We are limitied to the people who can stay in the beach house, so if you want to come please let Ross know ASAP.

Dates and other info

Aloha!

So, looks like we have three spots remaining until people will have to get hotels, etc. Maybe another group would want to rent another beach house nearby. If so, let me know and I will scout out any that you are interested in.

Angela,
Umar,
Bryce,
Toal

Pay right away or you wont have a spot.

Other info: The days so far are from August 24th to the 26th with the 27th possibly included. Another thing, if you want to be there for the event: Jesse and I will be renting a four to six bedroom house before HBDCII so if you want to go you will need to pay a fee for beer, wine, and food and you can stay at our house. Only two or three people will be OK though so let me know if you are on that boat.

Video of Beach House and Neighborhood

This is a cool video. Jesse taped it from the car as I drove around the block so you can see how close we are to Twin Lakes Beach.

360 view from back of beach house

This is kind of a crappy video, I was in the car and people were trying to get around me. It's a nice spot. The big vaulted roof is the beach house.

Pics of the Beach House!

This is the front of the house, that yellow school bus is right in front of the sand at the beach.

This is the back of the house, we are on the road that fronts the harbor, very nice and sunny on the patio.

Front of the house again.

Once again, the front.

Invoices & payment

FYI
I revised invoices due to an unexpected paypal fee of $3.20. I apologize for the multiple invoice e-mails.

If you can make a payment, even if it is $25, please do so ASAP. I am sending a check with the contract for the house Monday morning and everyone's help is needed. I wish I was loaded and could fork over all the money, but unfortunatly I am not.

Good news buddies

We have a house lined up, but I am waiting on payments so I can lock the reservation. The house is awesome and Ross will be posting pics soon. It has a great view with a wrap around porch, brand new hot tub, 2 stories, fully supplied with everything we will need for the long weekend and plenty of sleeping space. I want to thank everyone who has paid so far, I am way too excited!!!

At this rate

Judging my that little widget there telling us that we have only 119 days left, that's less than a dollar a day!

For less than a dollar a day, you can give much needed food, relaxation and alcohol to a young person such as yourself. Help remedy the sobriety of these tired young people... for just a dollar a day, you can help.

that would be on the infomercial.

Beach House Prepayments

Hi everyone!

By now anybody who has RSVP'd about the beach house vacation will have received an invitation to this blog. If you have not and you are reading this, please go back to your evite page and let us know if you are coming.

Kate has received just a few payments and we are waiting for more people to pay so we can secure the beach house with a deposit. If you can pay now please do. You should receive and invoice from Katie with the subject: "HBDCII Beach House Santa Cruz Prepayment".

Remember I still need the email addresses for Umar and Ben. Let me know if you know.

Have a great weekend!

Excited!

Kevin and I are soooooo excited! I think I found a great house, but I am waiting on a response from the owner. We will be able to BBQ & drink on a huge deck that over looks the ocean. There will be a lot to do maybe some drunken beach volleyball, swimming, relaxing, soaking up the California sun. I hope everyone can make it out to Santa Cruz. Kevin and I are going 2000 miles so I don't want to hear that it is too far for anyone to drive! : )

P.S.
I miss California more than anything! Fell free to talk Kevin into moving back!
Can't Wait:

I can't wait until other people post here. Let's get some conversation going about the activities we will be doing at the event. Who wants to try surfing? What about skim boarding or boogie boarding? Maybe on Kate and Kevin's way they could pick up some fireworks!

Woooooohoooooo!
HBDCII!!!!
