Payment Shenanigans!

Hola HBDC!

I have a camcorder that I got for graduation last year. I think I can bring that, but I haven't figured out how to transfer video from the DVD's to AVI or MPG files yet. I will bring it though. Can someone bring a laptop? We can keep it safe and use my blackberry as a modem. That way we can upload pictures and save memory cards.

I'm thankful that you are bringing all of your extra rainwater Kevin. You may or may not know that most of Camanche's water goes to the east bay, so on your way to HBDC, just go steal a bunch of water from somebody's tap over there. I know at least one person you could get it from in Alameda.

The paypal system was good last year and I will send out an invoice at the end of March. If anyone wants to pay earlier than than April, please feel free to send your full hundered to hbdcpayments@gmail.com.

You can also make payments, but please read on.

There is a special payment system that must be followed to make up for the fees paypal charges, they charge about 2% when hbdc receives your money. So, when you send payments, add $2 so we can offset that nasty charge, a total of $40 for 20 attendees can go along way for other stuff.

Also, though the cost of attendance is $100, anyone is welcome to pay MORE. Your contribution will be spread evenly among everyone who goes to HBDC. No special privelages, sorry.

Happy Thursday everyone!

HBDC 3 Official First Post

Hey everyone!

All of the results are in from last years survey about HBDC2. I was really happy to see that so many buddies were involved in the process of deciding where our next event would be held.

Before revealing that bit of information I just wanted to let you know a few things about the survey. I also would like to tell you what the blog here will be updated about as the next few months go by. In short, I want to tell you where the most popular choices were for HBDC3, what people thought about the food, fun, etc. The blog itself will keep you updated about the number of people who plan to attend HBDC3, what the logo looks like, what the t-shirts will look like. All of this stuff is pretty basic, and honestly it's meant to keep you excited!

Most of the folks who were at H2 will likely be at H3. I've even heard rumors of certain people coming that would not be expected. But enough of this jargon, and on to the results.

Tentative dates for HBDC3 are August 14th to August 17th; Friday through Monday.

Here's the result of your comments on HBDC2:

For now the theme of HBDC3 is "Seriously Easy Going". We should change this though, as it came out of my head on a whim. Please post your ideas for the theme and we can vote on the best one at the beginning of the summer.

Some people wanted to cook, so we are going to have a sign-up on the blog for whoever wants to cook. We will also have a menu forum. I need someone to organize this too by the way so let me know if you are interested.

Everyone wants t-shirts again. So we're doing them.

Everyone liked the member guide. We're doing that again.

HBDC3 is going to be in August again, before school starts.

This year we will have stickers that say HBDC, you can put them anywhere after the camp out.

We will be getting two party boats this year (yes we will have more squirt guns, I bought ten more last year).

Everyone is welcome to bring other people, we aren't going to restrict invitations this year. We just need to know who you are bringing by the 15th. This is important because of the number of campsites and boats to rent. Also food!

Payment for HBDC3 will be $100 (and this year we've learned how to get more out of Ben Franklin). Each guest that you bring will also be $100. We really would appreciate full payment by June 30th to start reserving camp sites and reserving boats. If you need a special arrangement let me know.

Here's What You Get:

1. All food is paid for (3 squares)
2. Camp site is paid for.
3. Party boat is paid for.
4. Firewood is paid for.
5. Beer is paid for.
6. Your food is cooked for free!
7. An HBDC3 T-shirt
8. HBDC3 Stickers
9. HBDC2 Soundtrack CD
10. We will add snack foods this year.

There is also still room for suggestions on what we should provide as organizers of this event. If you feel that you have the time and energy to plan, help, set up, or innovate, we are always looking for good people to help.

So get ready to have a blast this Summer at HBDC3, I am so excited that its finally happening again. I've been waiting so long for this! Oh and last but not least, back by popular demand(and I mean about 90%), is Lake Camanche!

Your buddy,
Ross
